American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato star of the 12th Baroque Opera Festival in Warsaw
Concert performance of the famous American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, accompanied by the legendary Il Pomo d’oro orchestra, will inaugurate the 12th edition of the Baroque Opera Festival. The artist will show her latest multi-faceted EDEN initiative, a combination of music, drama and education.
With each passing day – writes DiDonato – I trust more and more in the perfect balance, astonishing mystery and guiding force of the natural world around us, how much Mother Nature has to teach us. EDEN is an invitation to return to our roots and to explore whether or not we are connecting as profoundly as we can to the pure essence of our being, to create a new EDEN from within and plant seeds of hope for the future.
Joyce DiDonato is the winner of a number of awards, including three Grammy Awards. The album Eden was nominated for the award in the “Best Classical Solo Vocal Album” category.
The show will be held on September 2 at the Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Concert Studio. The tickets are available here.
The Baroque Opera Festival was established in 1993, owing to the growing popularity of baroque music, numerous discoveries and reconstructions of the old repertoire backed by the Warsaw Chamber Opera’s in-depth historical knowledge. The current 12th edition will be held from September 2 until November 30.
