Artur Ruciński as Don Carlo in Verdi’s “The Force of Destiny” on OperaVision
Last month, Artur Ruciński made his debut as Don Carlo in Verdi’s “The Force of Destiny” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (November 9). The third performance, recorded on November 15, 2024 h,as been available on OperaVision for six months. The production can also be watched on YouTube.
This year’s performances with the Polish singer marked a revival of the 2012 production. The show was directed by Jean-Claude Auvray and choreographed by Terry John Bates, with set designed by Paolo Ferri and Alain Chambon, and costumes by Maria Chiara Donato. The Gran Teatre del Liceu Orchestra and Choir was conducted by Nicola Luisotti. The Polish baritone is accompanied on stage by: Anna Pirozzi (Leonora), Brian Jagde (Don Alvaro), John Relyea (Padre Guardiano), Caterina Piva (Preziosilla), Pietro Spagnoli (Fra Melitone) and Moisés Marín (Trabucco).
OperaVision is a freeview opera streaming platform run by the international organization of opera theaters Opera Europa.
