Belcanto furioso: Pandolfis Consort and soprano Lisa Rombach at the Royal Castle in Warsaw
The 12th Baroque Opera Festival in Warsaw is underway, with the upcoming performance of “Belcanto furioso” by the Viennese band Pandolfis Consort and the Austrian soprano Lisa Rombach lined up for November 15. The Royal Castle in Warsaw will host the concert featuring works by Johann Adolph Hasse, Georg Friedrich Handel, Antonio Vivaldi and Carl Heinrich Graun.
The Pandolfis Consort was established in Vienna in 2004 to present lesser-known scores by famous but partially forgotten composers. With over 500 songs in the repertoire, the ensemble has an established position and is regularly invited to international festivals.
The Baroque Opera Festival held by the Warsaw Chamber Opera, was launched in 1993 thanks to the growing popularity of baroque music, numerous discoveries and reconstructions of the old repertoire supported by the in-depth historical knowledge of the Warsaw Chamber Opera ensemble. The 12th edition started on September 2 and it will run until November 24.
