Beyoncé sings “Caro Mio Ben” on her new album “Cowboy Carter”
The aria “Caro Mio Ben” (“My Dear Beloved”) was written for a London concert. Its possible publication date is 1782. The piece was long ascribed to Italian composer Giuseppe Giordani, but it is now believed the author was his brother Tommaso Giordani. The aria is very popular. It is of particular importance to young students of singing who use it to practice their vocal technique.
Beyoncé‘s newly released album “Cowboy Carter,” includes an excerpt from “Caro Mio Ben”. Halfway through one of the 27 country and gospel songs, titled “Dauther,” Beyoncé sings a snippet of “Caro Mio Ben”.
Released on March 29, “Cowboy Carter” features collaborations with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Reyna Roberts.
