The 12th Baroque Opera Festival features concert performance of the Croatian countertenor Max Emanuel Cenčić who will sing arias from baroque operas. He will be accompanied by the Nuovo barocco ensemble conducted by Dimitris Karakantas. The concert performance, titled “The Rivals“, will be held on October 20 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

Max Emanuel Cenčić made his debut on Croatian television at the age of six, singing the famous aria of the Queen of the Night from Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.” In the years 1987-1992 he sang as a boy soprano with the Wiener Sängerknaber choir. After the mutation, he began his career as a countertenor in 2001. Max Emanuel Cenčić is the director of Parnassus Arts Productions. He is responsible for the conception, direction and performance of significant works of Italian baroque music. He was honored by the French Ministry of Culture with the title of Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his artistic work.

The Polish audience will have another opportunity to hear him on November 17 at the National Philharmonic. The countertenor will sing the title part in Caldara’s opera “Venceslao, re di Polonia“. The {oh!} Orchestra will be conducted by Martyna Pastuszka.
