International Adam Didur Opera Vocal Competition announces the list of participants
The organizers of the International Adam Didur Opera Vocal Competition have unveiled the list of participants shortlisted for the 5th edition. Among the 72 qualifying singers, 48 will represent Poland. The full full list can be found here.
The competition begins on October 7 at the Academy of Music in Katowice. The second and third stages as well as the winners’ concert performance on October 13 will be held at the Silesian Opera. On October 15, the winners’ gala will be shown again at the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theater in Katowice.
This year’s edition is unique: it marks 45 years since the first national edition of the competition and 20 years since its first international edition. The competition is organized by the Silesian Opera in Bytom, with baritone Andrzej Dobber appointed Artistic Director.
