Maria Callas fragrance celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the all-time diva
December 2, 2023 marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Maria Callas, one of the greatest singers of the 20th century, called the prima donna of the century. To celebrate the round anniversary, The Merchant of Venice has created an eau de parfum branded with the diva’s stage name (the artist was born as Sophie Cecelia Kalos).
The perfume is a tribute to the myth of Maria Callas and her great personality, and the Murano glass bottle is a true work of perfumery art. The soprano’s characteristic style and preferences are reflected in both the notes of the fragrance and the bottle itself. It resembles a precious, tailor-made dress in the colors she loved, black and white. The cork symbolizes the singer’s favorite stage accessory: the hat, while the ribbon has been inspired by the silk scarves she liked to wear.
The eau de parfum itself contains notes of Italian mandarin, juicy lemon, black pepper, rose, Neroli buds, blackcurrant and cedarwood.
