Moniuszko’s “The Haunted Manor” at the 20th “Chopin and his Europe” Music Festival in Warsaw

The Festival program has been announced, featuring a concert version of Moniuszko’s “The Haunted Manor”, considered a jewel of 19th-century Polish opera. The cast includes Artur Ruciński, Agnieszka Rehlis, Krzysztof Bączyk and Mariusz Godlewski, among others. “The Haunted Manor” will be shown on August 25 at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw. The soloists, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Choir and the Europa Galante orchestra, who specialize in historical performances, will be conducted by Fabio Biondi. The orchestra has performed Moniuszko’s repertoire before. In 2018, they recorded “Halka” on historical instruments from the composer’s time.

The cast will also feature: Karen Gardeazabal, Agata Schmidt, Petr Nekoranec, Volodymyr Tyshkov and Krystian Adam.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on March 12 on the website https://bilety.nifc.pl and at the ticket offices of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw. Click here for the detailed program.

This year marks the twentieth edition of the International Music Festival “Chopin and his Europe”. The current run explores the sub-theme of “Chopin and the Rest of the World”. For three weeks, (from August 17 to September 8, 2024), the audience will have an opportunity to listen to over 40 concerts.
