October a month of vocal competitions in Poland and Europe. Where to watch auditions?

Preliminary auditions were held in the first round of the 5th Adam Didur International Opera Singers’ Competition on Monday, October 7. 34 participants performed in the Concert Hall of the Academy of Music in Katowice. From the second round on October 9, the auditions will be available online on the YouTube channel of the Silesian Opera, the competition organizer.

Adam Rozlach from Polish Radio 1 commented on the first day of the competition: … the auditions were dominated by the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and arias from Italian operas by Rossini, Donizetti and Verdi. The session proved very interesting, as absolutely all the singers have prepared for their performances very well. They were very good in most cases, with captivating and rich interpretations.
