Play Gardens! The 24th Music Gardens Festival launched in the courtyard of the Royal Castle
From June 29 to July 27, 2024, the Music Gardens Festival will be held in the Concert Pavilion at the Grand Courtyard of the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The summer event organized since 2001, consists of film screenings of operas, ballets and musicals as well as live concerts.
Among the stars of the 24th edition will be: Iwona Sobotka and David Baños in the “Tribute to Puccini” concert, Dorota Szczepańska with the project “Lamento” as well as emerging singers from the Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera and the pop-opera trio Tre Voci.
The program of film screenings features the most important pieces from Puccini’s repertoire: “La Bohème” (a historical recording from 1988 from the San Francisco Opera), “Tosca” (from the National Opera in Amsterdam), “Turandot” (from the Opéra national de Paris) and ” “Madama Butterfly” (from the Vienna State Opera), as well as “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini (from the Vienna State Opera), “The Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart (from the Salzburg Festival), “Messiah” by Handel (from the Krumlov Festival) and concert performances: Luciano Pavarotti, Jonas Kaufmann or on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Vienna State Opera (performers: Tomasz Konieczny, Aleksandra Kurzak, Roberto Alagna, Erwin Schrott, Nina Stemme, Sonya Yoncheva, Camilla Nylund, Benjamin Bernheim, Chen Reiss, Valentina Naforniţă, Olga Bezsmertna).
