Over 150 young singers have entered the 4th International Antonina Campi, née Miklaszewicz Vocal Competition, scheduled from April 3 until April 7, 2024 in Lublin. 46 shortlisted participants include vocalists from Australia, Georgia, Latvia, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, South Korea, the USA, Iceland and Ukraine, among others. Poland will be represented by 21 singers.

During the five-day competition, young classical vocalists will be assessed by a jury consisting of: Ewa Vesin (singer and artistic director of the projects under the name of Antonina Campi, née Miklaszewicz), Izabela Kłosińska (casting director, Polish National Opera), Łukasz Borowicz (conductor, head of the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra and music director of the Poznań Philharmonic), Federico Tondelli (PrimaFila Artists, Munich), Michael Gruber (Opera4You, Vienna), Francesco Greco (director of the Opera Studio at Staatsoper Hannover) and Mariusz Kwiecień (baritone and music educator).

In the final of the competition on April 7, selected participants will perform a varied program of arias, with Łukasz Borowicz conducting the accompanying Beethoven Academy Orchestra. The singers compete for a total of PLN 70,000 prize money, divided into the following categories: 1st Prize – PLN 30,000, 2nd Prize – PLN 20,000, 3rd Prize – PLN 15,000, and Antonina Campi, née Miklaszewicze prize for the best performance of Puccini’s aria – PLN 5,000.

This year, only the final of the Competition will take place at the Center for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin. Auditions with piano accompaniament during the first two stages have been moved to the Concert Hall of the School of Music in Lublin and Tadeusz Szeligowski School of Music in Lublin. This year’s edition of the competition is the thirteenth event under the Competition brand, whose creators also organize vocal workshops (Antonina Campi Opera Masterclass) and scientific conferences.
