Polish singers cast: 2024-25 season at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich
Polish singers and creatives regularly appear in the productions of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. The upcoming 2024-25 season will be no different.
Krzysztof Warlikowski directs Janáček’s “Káťa Kabanová” – more details can be found here. The Bayerische Staatsoper also revives Warlikowski’s productions of “Le Grand Macabre” by Ligeti and “Dido and Aeneas… Erwartung” by Purcell/Schönberg. Other revival with a Polish contribution is Donizetti “Lucia di Lammermoor”, directed by Barbara Wysocka.
Piotr Beczała sings Don José in “Carmen” and the titular Lohengrin in Wagner’s opera. The Polish tenor also performs at the beginning of the season in the “Opera for All” event at the Festspielhaus Oberammergau.
Andrzej Filończyk appears as Silvio in the new production of “Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo. Aside from that, the baritone will be heard in the role of Belcore in the revival of Donizetti’s “Les d’Amore”.
Paweł Horodyski (member of the opera studio) performs in “The Moon” by Orff, “Tosca” by Puccini, “Macbeth” by Verdi, “Manon Lescaut” by Puccini. Daria Proszek returns to the Munich stage in Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades”.
