Polish singers casts: Monika Buczkowska, Karolina Makuła and Mikołaj Trąbka in Oper Frankfurt’s new season

The three emerging soloists are graduates of the Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera. All of them are former members of the Oper Frankfurt’s Opera Studio.

During the 2024-25 season, Monika Buczkowska (soprano) will appear as Madeleine / Madame de Latour in “Le Postillon de Lonjumeau” by Adolphe Adam. She will also sing the title Alcina in George Friedrich Händel’s opera, and Oksana in “Christmas Eve” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

Karolina Makuła (mezzo-soprano) will sing Marthe and Bellangère in “L’Invisible” by Aribert Reimann (premiere), Giovanna in “Rigoletto” by Verdi, and Adalgisa in “Norma” by Bellini.

Mikołaj Trąbka (baritone) will perform as Hausknecht in the revival of Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District”, Count Almaviva in Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” and Marullo in Verdi’s “Rigoletto”.

Monika Buczkowska and Mikołaj Trąbka have been members of the Frankfurt Opera ensemble for a number of seasons, while Karolina Makuła joins the company in 2024-25.
