Polish singers cast: Staatsoper Hamburg’s new 2024-25 season

Staatsoper Hamburg has revealed its 2024-25 repertoire. Polish singers featured in the upcoming season include:

Tomasz Konieczny as The Dutchman in Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” (conducted by Kent Nagano, directed by Michael Thalheimer).

Adam Palka in the role of Count Walter in Verdi’s “Luise Miller” (conducted by Lorenzo Passerini, directed by Andreas Homoki).

Aleksandra Olczyk will sing the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” (conducted by Leo Hussain, directed by Jette Steckel).

Andrzej Dobber will be Ottokar in the premiere of Weber’s “Der Freischütz” (conducted by Yoel Gamzou, directed by Andreas Kriegenburg).

On the same opening night, he will be joined by Hubert Kowalczyk (member of the Staatsoper Hamburg ensemble) as Cuno. The bass will also sing: Sparafucile in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” (conducted by Henrik Nanasi, directed by Andreas Homoki), Ferrando in Verdi’s “The Troubadour” (conducted by Paolo Arrivabeni, directed by Immo Karaman) and the 5th Jew in “Salome” by R. Strauss (directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov).

Grzegorz Pelutis (member of the Staatsoper Hamburg Opera Studio) will appear in the roles of: Wigmaker in the premiere of “Ariadne auf Naxos” by R. Strauss (conducted by Kent Nagano, directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov), Leibbojar in Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov” (conducted by Kent Nagano, directed by Frank Castorf), Benoît in “La bohème” by Puccini (conducted by Ramon Tebar, directed by Guy Joosten), Monterone in “Rigoletto” by Verdi (conducted by Henrik Nanasi, directed by Andreas Homoki).
