Recital by Tomasz Konieczny and Lech Napierała at the Łódź Philharmonic: Love confessions of dance and death
During the first concert in his hometown in over six years, Tomasz Konieczny will perform “Wesendonck-Lieder” by Richard Wagner, a collection of songs composed to poems by Mathilde Wesendonck, created in parallel with the musical drama “Tristan and Isolde.” He will also present the cycle “Songs and Dances of Death” by Modest Mussorgsky, featuring poignant scenes of death claiming the lives of subsequent unfortunate humans. The audience will also have an opportunity to hear songs by Stanisław Moniuszko, the American composer Charles Ives and Mykola Lysenko, the creator of the Ukrainian national opera. Konieczny will be accompanied by his regular collaborator Lech Napierała at the piano.
The recital will be held at the Łódź Philharmonic on January 22, 2025 (Wednesday) at 8 p.m.
