The program features the premiere of “Mahagonny. Afterparty”, directed by Krystian Lada, under the musical direction of Lilianna Krych. The show consists of two operas: “Mahagonny – Ein Songspiel” by Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht and a new composition “Afterparty” by Katarzyna Głowicka with lyrics by Bartosz “Fisz” Waglewski. The production in the style of songspiel, in which the story is told through songs and musical interludes, opens on December 8, 2024.

The 18th edition (for the 14th time at STUDIO) of “The Met: Live in HD 2024-25” series starts on October 5, 2024, with eight live transmissions from the Metropolitan Opera. The first screening of the season is “The Tales of Hoffman” by Jacques Offenbach, directed by Bartlett Sher. The renowned tenor Benjamin Bernheim plays the main role. Aside from him, the production features sopranos Erin Morley and Pretty Yende and mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine.

The audience will have an opportunity to see the Met’s premiere production of Jeanine Tesori’s opera “Grounded” with mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo. The Met: Live in HD also includes popular opera classics such as a new production of “Salome” by R. Strauss, directed by Claus Guth (featuring, among others, soprano Elza van den Heever and baritone Peter Mattei, accompanied by tenor Piotr Buszewski) and “Aida” by Verdi with soprano Angel Blue and tenor Piotr They Bleaked, directed by Michael Mayer.

Beethoven’s “Fidelio” premieres in live broadcast, with Tomasz Konieczny as Don Pizzaro and Lise Davidsen in the main role. The soprano will also appear in Puccini’s “Tosca”. Aside from that, the repertoire features: “The Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart with an all-star cast and “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini, directed by Bartlett Sher, with the rising opera star – mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina.  Met music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin will lead the orchestra during broadcasts of “Grounded,” “Aida” and “Salome.”
