The 33rd Mozart Festival to be held in Warsaw and Vienna
Warszawska Opera Kameralna (The Warsaw Chamber Opera) unveils the dates of the 33rd edition of the Mozart Festival – it will be held from May 13 until June 30, with the Grand Opening Gala on May 13 at the National Philharmonic, and the Final Gala at the Polish Theater in Warsaw.
Aside from concerts and performances in the capital of Poland, the program of the current edition features a concert performances in Vienna. On May 19, soprano Jessica Pratt and tenor Petr Nekoranec will perform at the Wiener Musikverein, accompanied by the MACV orchestra with Michał Maciaszczyk conducting on the podium. The program includes arias and duets from “Don Giovanni”, “The Abduction from the Seraglio”, “Idomeneo” and “The Clemency of Titus”.
On May 20, the MACV orchestra will perform a program titled “Mozartian Dialogues: From Strings to Winds” at the Mozarthaus. On May 21, Mozart’s last three symphonies (39 in E flat major, 40 in G minor and 41 in C major) will be performed at the Hofburgkapelle in Vienna. Adam Banaszak conducts.
