The Metropolitan Opera launches the eighteenth season of its Live in HD series with Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffmann” on October 5. The show will be screened live in cinemas worldwide, including a number of theaters across Poland: the Studio Theater in Warsaw, the Łódź Philharmonic, the Kijów Cinema in Krakow and the New Horizons in Wrocław. The show features outstanding tenor Benjamin Bernheim in the title role. The singer has recently been awarded the Opera Oscar (International Opera Award) in the “best singer” category. He will be accompanied by sopranos Erin Morley and Pretty Yende, mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine and Vasilisa Berzhanskaya in her Met debut.

Marco Armiliato conducts. Bartlett Sher’s magical production features sets and costumes designed by Michael Yeargan and Catherine Zuber.
