The Warsaw Chamber Opera holds concert performance of J. Haydn’s Oratorio “The Creation of the World” at the Royal Castle
The concert, held by the Warsaw Chamber Opera at the Royal Castle on December 8, 2024 at 6.00 p.m., will feature: Natalia Rubiś (soprano), Piotr Buszewski (tenor), Jerzy Butryn (bass), the Vocal Ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera (Chorus Master: Krzysztof Kusiel-Moroz) and the Period Instrument Orchestra of the Warsaw Chamber Opera Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense (MACV) who will perform under the baton of Adam Banaszak.
Written between 1796 and 1798, “The Creation of the World” is a piece of great power. Nearly two hours long, the work is structured in three parts and scored for three (or five) soloists, a four-voice chorus and an orchestra. Each part consists of several pieces: in the first part we learn the history of the first four days of the creation – the creation of light, earth, heavenly bodies, water, air and plants. The second part is a description of the creation of sea creatures, birds, animals and finally the man. The third part tells about the happiness and love of Adam and Eve in Paradise.
