“Amadeus Live” – film screening with live orchestra at Polish National Opera
Warsaw joins the group of cities that have hosted the “Amadeus Live” project. The world premiere of Miloš Forman’s film screened with live music took place at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016. Since then, it has been shown in Tokyo, Toronto, Seoul, or Paris, among others.
Together with the Timeless Film Festival, The Polish National Opera has planned three screening events: on April 13 (at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and on April 14 (at 6 p.m.).
The audience of the Moniuszko Auditorium will hear Mozart’s most celebrated pieces, performed by the Choir and Orchestra of the Polish National Opera. The show will be conducted by Dawid Runtz. The event marks 40 years since the premiere of “Amadeus”, eight-time Oscar-winning masterpiece: for best film, best director, best actor, best script, set design, costumes, make-up and sound.
The show is a tribute to the famed film that tells the story of two clashing composers: a joyful and frivolous genius (Tom Hulce as Mozart) and a lofty, talentless court composer (Oscar-winner F. Murray Abraham as Salieri).
