May with Wagner’s tetralogy online. Tomasz Konieczny as Wotan and the Wanderer

The Zurich Opera House has prepared a series of transmissions of Richard Wagner’s “The Ring of the Nibelung”. The  performances will be shown live on the website on four May evenings. They will be available free of charge for a month.

”The Rhinegold” (“Das Rheingold”) will be streamed on May 18 at 7:00 p.m., ”The Valkyrie” (“Die Walküre”) on May 20 at 4:00 p.m., “Siegfried” (“Siegfried”) on May 24 at 5:30 p.m., and “Twilight of the Gods” (“Götterdämmerung”) on May 26 at 4:00 p.m.

Polish bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny, who specializes in Wagner repertoire, performs the role of Wotan in the first two parts, and the Wanderer in “Siegfried.”

All productions are directed by Andreas Homoki. Gianandrea Noseda is the musical director.
