Multimedia concert “To those who have not returned from the sea…” for the 21st time in Szczecin
The Opera at the Castle invites audiences to the annual concert “To those who have not returned from the sea…” The performance will be held at the Central Cemetery in Szczecin on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10 p.m. The program features Mozart’s “Requiem” sung by the soloists: Victoria Vatutina, Aneta Łukaszewicz, Rafał Żurek, Rafał Pawnuk. Małgorzata Bornowska conducts the choir and orchestra of the Opera at the Castle and the Berliner Figuralchor.
“To those who have not returned from the sea…” is a recurring concert performance held in the scenery of the Central Cemetery, the largest burial ground in Poland and the third largest one in Europe. It is also one of the most beautiful parks in Szczecin. The Opera at the Castle has honored the memory of people who connected their lives with – and died at sea for over 20 years. The concert is traditionally preceded by a maritime ceremony, and the music is accompanied by a lightshow enhancing the mood of the evening.
The event is held as part of the Interreg VI A Cooperation Program Mecklenburg Vorpommern/Brandenburg/Poland 2021-2027. Admission to the event is free.
