Piotr Beczała sings title role in Gounod’s “Faust” at the Vienna Staatsoper
Piotr Beczała sings the title role in Charles Gounod’s “Faust”. The French composer’s opera, directed by Frank Castorf, will be shown in Vienna four times: on May 22, 25, 29 and June 2, 2024.
The Polish tenor will be joined on stage by Nicole Car as Małgorzata and Adam Palka as Mephistopheles. Stefan Astakhov will appear as Valenty, Patricia Nolz as Siébel, and Jusung Gabriel Park as Wagner. The Vienna State Opera Orchestra will be conducted by Bertrand de Billy.
Piotr Beczala has sung Faust before, including performances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Salzburg Festival and the opera in Zurich.
