Polish singers cast: Adriana Ferfecka and Mikołaj Trąbka in “La bohème” at the Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier
Soprano Adriana Ferfecka has performed Mimì before, including the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Polish National Opera, among others. For baritone Mikołaj Trąbka – member of the Oper Frankfurt ensemble, the show will mark his role debut as Marcello. The cast of the Opéra Orchestre National in Montpellier, France also features Long Long (Rodolfo), winner of the 3rd place at the 10th International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition.
The traditional staging of Puccini’s opera in Montpellier was prepared by Orpha Phelan, with Roderick Cox conducting on the podium. On stage May 22, 24 and 26.
Giacomo Puccini wrote “La Bohème” in 1896. Giuseppe Giacosa’s libretto tells the story of four impoverished artists: Schaunard, Rodolfo, Colline and Marcello. Rodolfo falls in love with Mimì, but their happiness is threatened when the girl falls gravely ill.
