Aleksandra Kurzak made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Olympia in “The Tales of Hoffman” in 2004. Since then, the Polish soprano has regularly appeared on the stage of the most important opera in the world. In the current season, following the role of Cio-Cio-San in “”Madama Butterfly” , Kurzak will sing the part of Liù in Puccini’s “Turandot”. Seven performances with the Polish singer are scheduled from February 28 to March 23, 2024.

The soprano will be joined by Elena Pankratova, SeokJong Baek and Vitalij Kowaljow on the stage in New York. Oksana Lyniv conducts the show.

“Turandot” is an opera in three acts. Although never completed by the composer, it is considered one of the most impressive works in his oeuvre. The tale of a princess who cold-bloodedly orders the beheading of successive suitors has been showcased on opera stages for nearly 100 years.
