Warsaw Chamber Opera to stage multimedia musical show #CarminaBuranaNow
On March 23, Warszawska Opera Kameralna (Warsaw Chamber Opera) will show the multimedia musical spectacle #CarminaBuranaNow. The contemporary version of Orff’s famous cantata “Carmina Burana” is a compilation of a numer of musical genres and modern stage forms.
The multimedia show is directed by Konrad Smuga, with choreography created by Tomasz Barański, set design and lighting by Marcin Kozyra, and visualizations by Piotr Szabliński. Musical director of the show is Gromee, who will conduct the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and the Vocal Ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera. The cast features soloists: Joanna Moskowicz, Alicja Węgorzewska, Kacper Szelążek and Tomasz Rak.
#CarminaBuranaNow is a tale of love, friendship and fighting against oneself. It is a story about pursuing fulfillment and making difficult choices. The cantata based on medieval songs has been revived and combined with new compositions to produce an audio and visual experience. The show will be staged at Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa (Sports and Entertainment Hall) in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
